Lightning clean up at NHL awards night

The Tampa Bay Lightning were already on top of the world, having won the Staley Cup championship earlier this week. And later in the same week in Toronto, they also took home a good chunk of the NHL awards. Forward Martin St. Louis has emerged as a bonafide NHL star taking home the Art Ross trophy for most points in the regular season, the Hart Trophy as the Most Valuable Player and a of course a Stanley Cup ring - this "triple crown" of hockey awards was last matched by Wayne Gretzky in 1987.

Fellow Lightning forward and Conn Smythe Trophy winner Brad Richards took home the Lady Byng trophy as the most gentlemanly player. Lastly, the person who brought the Lightning team together and guided them to a superb regular season and Stanley Cup championship also got his due. Coach John Tortorella won the Jack Adams trophy as coach of the year.

On a side note, Martin St. Louis also won the Lester B. Pearson award, given to the most valuable player as voted by fellow NHL players.
