Calgary goes 'Cup Crazy'
The Calgary Flames have had quite a season. They finished 7th in the Western conference and have done much better in the playoffs than anyone expected. And the fans in Calgary deserve a lot of credit. The Flames hadn't made it past the first round since their last Stanley Cup victory in 1989, so the fans in Calgary are in uncharted territory. They have packed the Saddledome and Calgary streets after many of their playoff wins. One of the more amazing things of the playoffs happened during game 2 of the finals. The Saddledome had over 20,000 packed in for the game and hundreds had to be turned away. But the kicker of course is that the game wasn't even in Calgary, 20k people came to watch the game on the arena scoreboard! No matter what comes out of this series, it is quite clear that hockey fans in Calgary (and Canada in general) are probably more hockey crazy than anywhere in the world.

The league, the Flames and the city of Calgary better be carefull, the way they let tens of thousands of people hang out close to the Saddledome, something bad is just waiting to happen. They better have a whole lot of police presence for game 6.
