The news has been floating around for a couple of weeks. The rumours were further fueled earlier this week as the Ottawa Senators dealt goalie Patrick Lalime to the St Louis Blues for a fourth-round draft pick in 2005. The Hockey Hall of Fame added three great defensemen for 2004. Ray Bourque, Paul Coffey and Larry Murphy played during the same NHL era and produced phenominal numbers during their careers. Former Calgary and Toronto general manager Cliff Fletcher was also chosen in the builders' category by the 18-member selection committee.
